Status of Library Collections

As progress on renovation continues, this page provides information regarding changes in access to library resources.

Collections have been relocated to new areas in the Library. Please see a service desk for assistance.

Assistance with Library Materials

Books, government documents, archives, and the Afghanistan collection are moving to the first floor during June 2008, and patrons have limited access to the third floor at this time. Until the collection move is complete and first floor is open to the public in early July, library staff will page (retrieve) these items upon request. Please inquire at a service desk for a materials paging form.

    • Call Numbers P-Z are available via paging. Please ask at a service desk to retrieve these items.
    • Call Numbers LB 1139.5 through NX are located on the third floor in the new addition on the north side of the library.

  • Media Collection (CDs & DVDs)
  • Reference Collection

Temporary Unavailable Items

Back issues of print and microform periodicals, currently in temporary off-site storage, will remain off-site until the completion of construction work during the third phase of renovation.

There are three other ways to get copies of these materials:

  • Locate Journals
    Some materials may be available from Criss Library electronically via the locate journals service.
  • Other local libraries via WorldCat
    Local libraries may also have copies. Search WorldCat for the title and enter your zipcode to identify availability at Metro area libraries.
  • Interlibrary Loan
    UNO affiliated users and University Library Friends should Request interlibrary Loan via ILLiad Interlibrary Loan system.
